SA:Xmas sales up 12 per cent in Adelaide

Adelaide shoppers are spending big over Christmas lured by interest rate cuts and retail
specials, according to a consumer industry executive.

Adelaide's city Rundle Mall outdoor shopping precinct's chairman THEO MARAS says shoppers
are returning to to the mall in droves, with sales up 12 per cent from last year.

Mr MARAS says the mall has broken records as interest rate cuts and government campaigns
encourages residents to shop in the city.
